Matt Riddle left Memphis Wrestling high and dry this weekend, pulling out of a scheduled TV taping at the last minuteand the timing couldnt have been worse.
Ringside News has learned Riddle was expected to appear at the Memphis Wrestling event, which was heavily promoted around him. However, he notified the promotion on the day of the taping that he wasnt coming, leaving them scrambling to rewrite the show.
Meanwhile, Riddle was spotted at Nick Hogans wedding the night before, alongside Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes. While its unclear if his no-show was directly linked to the wedding, it definitely doesnt look great for the MLW World Champion to back out on such short notice.
Matt Riddle might be the MLW World Champion, but skipping out on a promoted appearance for Memphis Wrestling at the last minute is a rough look. Whether it was bad timing or a case of priorities, its clear this wasnt the way Memphis Wrestling planned for things to go down.
Now, the big question iswill he make it up to them, or will this be another burned bridge on Riddles unpredictable journey?
