Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi has agreed personal terms with Aston Villa and is now keen to complete a move to Villa Park before the transfer window closes, a report has revealed.
Disasi moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for a fee of 38.5m but, despite being regular starter under Mauricio Pochettino in his debut season, the Frenchman has tumbled down the pecking order since the arrival of current boss Enzo Maresca.
This season, Disasi has featured just six times in the Premier League, predominantly as an emergency right-back. In his favoured position, the 26-year-old appears to be behind Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo, Trevoh Chalobah and even emerging academy talent Josh Acheampong in Maresca's estimations.
Several clubs have expressed an interest in signing Disasi this month, including Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus and Villarreal, while reports of Villa's interest have been slowly growing over the past few days.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed Villa have already agreed personal terms with Disasi, who is now giving his priority to Unai Emery's side after talks with the manager. There is no mention of a potential fee, with Chelsea and Villa now locked in negotiations to try find a solution.
Chelsea are well-stocked at centre-back and also have plenty of long-term faith in 19-year-old Aaron Anselmino, the 15m signing who was recalled from his loan with Boca Juniors this month to give him chance to adjust to life in England, meaning they are willing to entertain offers for Disasi.
