Jo Durie wasn't impressed with Aryna Sabalenka breaking a racket moments after the Australian Open final ended as the former British tennis star thought it "took away the moment" from Madison Keys.

Moments after the American hit a forehand winner that sealed a 6-3 2-6 7-5 victory for her, she shook the Belarusian's hands and went to her team.

But as she was celebrating with her team, the world No. 1 was smashing her racket on the bench.

On TV, the coverage was simultaneously showing both scenes.

And former world No. 5 Durie - who was covering the match for Eurosport - didn't like Sabalenka's act.

"It's a shame she did that. I know that she is going for a third title and emotions are running high, but it does rather take away from the moment for Madison," the former two-time Grand Slam semifinalist said on Eurosport.

Sabalenka kept it straight honest about her racket smashing

One thing about the 26-year-old is that she is never afraid to reveal her true feelings or emotions.

So when asked about the post-match situation, the three-time Grand Slam winner admitted that she was so frustrated that she needed to break a racket and leave the court briefly just so she could calm down a bit.

Also, Sabalenka highlighted that she didn't want to risk being possibly disrespectful toward Keys just because she was frustrated.

"Well, I mean, there definitely was a bit of frustration because I was so close to achieve something crazy," the runner-up explained in her presser.

"When you're out there, you're fighting, but it seems like everything going not the way you really want to go.

"I just needed to throw those negative emotions at the end just so I could give a speech, not stand there being disrespectful.

"I was just trying to let it go and be a good person, be respectful."
