WWE has been expanding NXTs presence outside of Florida, but it looks like the brand wont be going full-time on the road just yet.
According to Fightful Select, WWE is planning to have two NXT tapings per month outside of the Performance Center, while the rest will continue to be filmed at their Orlando-based home base.
Since moving to The CW, WWE has taken NXT to different venues, giving fans across the country a chance to see the action live. However, the Performance Center will still be the go-to location for most weekly shows. This setup allows WWE to also tape shows like WWE LFG (formerly NXT Level Up) and possibly NXT: Evolve before the main NXT broadcasts.
Sources mentioned that while this is the plan for now, its not set in stone. More dates outside of Florida could be added in the future, depending on how things go. While some fans were hoping for NXT to become a full-fledged touring brand, it seems WWE is taking a measured approach, balancing the benefits of a controlled home base with the excitement of live events in different cities.
One of the biggest events NXT could be gearing up for is a March 11 taping at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. Earlier reports suggest WWE has proposed the event, which would take place one night after Raw takes over MSGs main arena. If it happens, it would mark the first time WWE has ever broadcasted an NXT show from the legendary venue, making it a major milestone for the brand.
NXT is stepping into new territory, but WWE isnt rushing the process. With plans to hit the road twice a month while keeping the Performance Center as home base, the brand is finding a balance between expansion and stability. A potential Madison Square Garden taping could be a major statement, but whether this leads to a full touring schedule remains to be seen. Either way, NXTs evolution is far from over, and fans will be watching closely to see whats next.
