Stefanos Tsitsipas has not won a Grand Slam title and his chances of achieving this feat are increasingly low, especially after the rise of two champions like Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The Greek ace who was considered one of the brightest talents of his generation has lost his certainties in recent years and is almost getting used to a supporting role on the men's tour.

His 2025 season started in the worst possible way with a premature elimination at the Australian Open, a tournament that had often enhanced his game in the past and where he hopes to shine again after a long crisis.
A huge regret
So far, the champion from Athens has had two great chances to win a Major. The reference is to the end of the 2021 French Open and the end of the 2023 Australian Open, both lost to the same opponent (Novak Djokovic).
The 2023 AO final was dominated by the Serbian legend who prevailed in three sets, while the 2021 Roland Garros final represents a still open wound for the Greek. Stefanos led two sets to nil in that match and was in full control, before suffering the shocking comeback of Nole who changed gears in the next three sets.

There is no doubt that that atrocious defeat remained in 'Tsitsi's mind for a long time.
On the latest edition of 'The Tennis Insider Club' podcast, the 2019 ATP Finals champion recalled that final: I made a massive mistake in the RG final. That is the only regret that I have. I just learned through that final that superstitions arent always necessarily good.
That goes for not eating as well when playing a final, which can cost you so much. I am sure I am not the only tennis player who doesnt do that, but especially when you are playing a best of five match it can really cost you.
I felt like it was too late after when I started. I did start in the fourth set and in the fourth set I convinced myself I should do things differently now, but the train had left at the time. It was a bit late. I realize the hard way, thats the only regret I have from the final.
