Thecoach of Naomi Osaka posted a video after the conclusion of the Australian Open 2025 in which he takes stock of the rivalry between the Italian and the Spaniard. Expressing an analysis that also goes against the grain of the most widespread line of thought on this rivalry, at least at the moment. Mouratoglou that today Sinner is not above Alcaraz.
"Jannik Sinner is not above everyone, I don't think he is above Carlitos. I think when Carlos is at his best it's a real match, and I'm not sure who will win, nobody can say who will win. All their matches have been extremely close, extremely uncertain, and Carlos has won some important ones against him, so I wouldn't say he is above. I think those two players, him and Carlos, are above everyone else," explained the Frenchman.

Mouratoglou went on to explain the fundamental difference in the way Sinner and Alcaraz play tennis, which makes one seem more dominant than the other.
"Carlos is making a lot more unforced errors than Sinner, he is playing with a lot more risks. Jannik's quality is that he plays at a crazy pace without making mistakes, and that is really his asset. Carlos' asset is that he has this incredible power in his racket and also the ability to change pace, he goes at a certain pace and then accelerates.
Jannik is all at the same pace and his strength is that he is extremely tall. So it is different, the fact that Carlos makes more errors maybe makes him look less dominant in matches against other players, but he has so much margin, it's crazy," hen said.

The French coach concluded by saying that any suggestion that Sinner is above Alcaraz is not true.
"When Carlos faces Jannik, no one can say who will win. Look at the results, both won two Grand Slams last year, and Carlos has one more Grand Slam than Jannik at the moment, and he is younger. So I don't think we can say that Jannik is much above Carlos, that's not true," analyzed the former coach of Serena Williams.
