The Royal Rumble Premium Live Event lived up to expectations in a big way as it was truly a night to remember. However, not everything went smoothly during the Mens Royal Rumble match as it appears there is backstage frustration over one particular stars actions during the match.
As reported earlier, after being eliminated, Drew McIntyre was seen screaming and cursing backstage before storming out of the building while the match was still ongoing. The report suggested McIntyre was frustrated that someone had to get their moves in, which came at the expense of the matchs overall storytelling.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that multiple people were frustrated with a specific wrestler in the match. The concern was that this particular wrestler was more focused on making himself look good rather than benefiting the match as a whole.
Meltzer didnt name the wrestler, stating he had only heard one name mentioned but expected more details to emerge soon. He also added that McIntyres frustration was not part of a storyline, and there are currently no signs of WWE turning the situation into an angle.
The wrestlers identity is still unknown, but fans are already speculating who it could be. If such backstage frustration leads to consequences, it could impact future storylines and lead to more issues in WWE.
