The2025 WWE Royal RumblePremium Live Event had a ton of unexpected moments from start to finish, but the biggest surprise was Jey Uso winning the Mens Royal Rumble match. Naturally, fans wondered whether this was a last-minute decision or planned long in advance, and now we have more details in that regard.
According to Viper Reports of PWN, Jey Uso was planned to win the Mens Royal Rumble as early as the beginning of January, or possibly even back in December. Therefore, this was clearly something WWE had intended to do earlier than people expected as the company was determined to make Jey Uso a megastar.
It was an incredibly uphill battle for Jey Uso to win the Mens Royal Rumble match, as he had to contend with numerous top WWE Superstars, including the likes of CM Punk, Logan Paul, Seth Rollins, John Cena and more.
When all was said and done, it came down to Jey Uso, John Cena and Logan Paul. The Leader of Cenation eliminated Logan Paul without hesitation and then Uso and Cena had an intense back and forth on the apron. Ultimately, Jey Uso countered an Attitude Adjustment and won the match, thus punching his ticket to WrestleMania 41.
It is to be noted that Jey Uso has already confirmed he will be challenging GUNTHER for theWWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. Uso plans to avenge his loss to GUNTHER at Saturday Nights Main Event and he will get his shot at WrestleMania 41 now.
While some fans may not be happy about Jey Usos win, the likes of Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu were definitely happy. WWE has placed a huge responsibility on him, and he fully embraces it. Therefore, it remains to be seen how he will be booked in the coming weeks, as anything can happen on the road to WrestleMania.
