With the transfer deadline looming, many clubs are poised to enter panic mode in a bid to strike last-minute deals.

January has well and truly concluded but the winter window doesn't shut until late on 3 February. There's still time, but it's of the essence.

There's plenty to sort out on Deadline Day, with the futures of several notable names still up in the air. Expect twists and turns to complement the unrelenting chaos.

Mathys Tel

  • Current Club: Bayern Munich
  • Linked to: Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Aston Villa

19-year-old Mathys Tel has been a protagonist of the window over the past week, yet it's a distinct possibility that he remains in Munich.

It looked as if the teenager was waving his goodbyes to the Bayern faithful after their Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava last Wednesday, with a whole host of Premier League clubs keen on acquiring the French Under-21 starlet.

Bayern are happy to sell and they struck a reported 50m agreement with Tottenham only for Tel to reject the move. Since then, the German giants couldn't compromise in negotiations with Manchester United, while Arsenal reportedly won't follow up on their interest.

Chelsea and Aston Villa have also been in the hunt, but links with those two clubs have come few and far between over the past couple of days, but absolutely anything could happen at the last minute.

Evan Ferguson

  • Current Club: Brighton
  • Linked to: West Ham, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Everton, Bournemouth

While ambiguity prevails over Tel's situation, we know that Evan Ferguson will be on the move.

It was noted long before the start of the winter window that Brighton were happy to let the Irish striker leave on loan this month, with Ferguson struggling to see the field under new manager Fabian Hurzeler.

Given what the young forward produced at the very start of his Premier League career, it's somewhat of a surprise that its taken this long for Ferguson to find a new home. He's set to reunite with Graham Potter, the man who oversaw his senior breakthrough, at West Ham.

The striker-needy Hammers are close to signing the Irishman on a dry loan until the end of the season.

Alejandro Garnacho

  • Current Club: Manchester United
  • Linked to: Chelsea, Tottenham, Napoli

Amorim has spoken well of Garnacho amid rumours linking the Argentine with a depature, and the winger played the entirety of Manchester United's 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

In truth, the manager hasn't got much choice but to play Garnacho. With Marcus Rashford joining Aston Villa having been cast aside for the past six weeks, the 20-year-old is one of very few attacking options at Amorim's disposal.

While INEOS are getting all excited about 'pure profit', Garnacho will surely only leave if United are able to get at least one in. Patrick Dorgu may be capable of playing in Amorim's frontline, but the Lecce starlet's been signed to offer a boost at wing-back.

With moves for Tel and Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku looking difficult to do, who could United come in for?

Axel Disasi

  • Current Club: Chelsea
  • Linked to: Aston Villa, Tottenham

The former Monaco defender has played a bit-part role for Chelsea under Enzo Maresca this term, with the bulk of Disasi's minutes arriving in the cup competitions.

The Blues' willingness to cut ties comes as no surprise, and there is Premier League interest. Tottenham have pulled out of the running and instead lodged an ambitious late bid for Marc Guehi, but Aston Villa are still there and thereabouts.

Disasi is keen on a move to Villa Park but the Champions League hopefuls aren't close to getting it over the line - Spurs may have hope after all.

Joao Felix

  • Linked to: AC Milan, Aston Villa

Villa and Chelsea will be getting to know each other plenty on Deadline Day.

The Villans' quest to bolster in attack following Jhon Duran's move to Al Nassr will not end with Marcus Rashford. The West Midlanders are also hoping to broker deals for Joao Felix and Marco Asensio before the window slams shut

A deal for the latter seems much more likely at this stage, but that doesn't mean Felix won't be moving on. Milan are the frontrunners for the Portuguese international's signature amid reports that the player was in town for Sunday's Derby della Madonnina.

The Rossoneri have a void to fill in attack after Alvaro Morata joined Galatasaray.
