Golf fans admit that they sometimes have the impression that Rory McIlroy is not appreciated enough by the public, even though he has been one of the best golfers for years. His consistency is what makes him special, but despite this, the Northern Irishman is often the target of criticism.

His last appearance at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am caused excitement among fans, as McIlroy lifted the trophy with two strokes ahead.
Lucas Glover is one of the golfers who is impressed by McIlory's qualities. The 45-year-old admitted in an interview with the media that Rory is playing better with age. Although this is only the beginning of the season, Rory is already giving hints that this could be a fantastic year for him.
"He's honestly to me getting better as he ages," Glover said, as quoted by Golf Magic.
"Which I don't think people do much. But he's hitting it maybe further than he ever has and hitting it better than he ever has, looks to me anyway.
[This was his] first week out on our Tour [in 2025] and it looks like he's dominating. Good for him.

I know he works hard, we practice at the same place at home and he works his butt off and he deserves everything he gets."

Lucas revealed that his colleague is working hard and training, and his words carry weight when we know that they train in the same place.
Glover was particularly delighted with Rory's ball control, stressing that he hit his putts well today. He believes that if the Northern Irishman golfer continues at the same pace, it will be difficult to stop him.
McIlroy will perform at the WM Phoenix Open, with great chances to emerge as the winner this time as well. He will have fierce competition, but we know that nothing is an obstacle for this golfer.
