DeChambeau shared in an interview with the media that he had the opportunity to play against Schneiderjans in college, and admits that the 31-year-old has beaten him many times.
"Yeah. Ollie's a great incredible golfer. He beat my butt in college numerous times. It's really impressive to see how well he is playing. I wish I could have given him a run for the money, but I was not prepared."- he said, as quoted by Sportskeeda.
The American golfer, although he had high expectations, was unable to keep up with his opponent's pace, believing that Schniederjans deserved this kind of victory. He feels that this golfer deserves praise from the media and fans.
"Umm I wasn't prepared but I could have been... unfortunately I didn't give him a run. But, he is a well-deserved champion and he deserves every bit of the accolades that comes with us."- he continued.
