Englishman Laurie Canter won the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship with 274 (68 69 68 69, -14) shots, a DP World Tour tournament held on the Royal Golf Club course (par 72), in Riffa in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The 35-year-old from Bath beat his compatriot Daniel Brown (274 68 65 71 70) and Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal (274 66 68 70 70) with a birdie on the first playoff hole, both of whom made a bogey. At the top of the ranking, after a good performance, Francesco Laporta and Andrea Pavan, 13th with 277 (-11), penalized more than necessary by some mistakes in the final.

In the very hard-fought competition with many twists and turns, the Frenchman Martin Couvra, the Scot Richie Ramsay and the Iberians Ivan Cantero and David Puig, member of LIV Golf, missed the play-off by one shot, fourth with 275 (-13), and among the five competitors in eighth position with 284 (-12) the Englishmen Callum Tarren, leader in the two central rounds, and Brandon Robinson Thompson, in the lead after the first.
Larrazabal had a great opportunity to take his tenth success on the circuit, leading with a one-shot advantage after 17 holes, but on the last one with a bogey he conceded the play-off to his two opponents. Then the Iberian missed the drive with the ball in the water, Brown was not precise either, while Canter had the upper hand with a second shot almost in the flag, transformed into birdie. The Englishman, who played events in the Arab Super League, signed the second title on the circuit after the one in the European Open (2024), but in his palmars he also has a victory on the Jamega Pro Golf Tour. For the feat he received a check for 425,000 dollars on a prize pool of 2,500.00 dollars and also moved from ninth to second place in the Race To Dubai (order of merit).

Laporta (70 66 68 73), second after three rounds, was one shot off the top until the 14th hole (three birdies and a bogey), but a ball in the water at the 15th and the double bogey slowed his run and with another bogey at the 17th he dropped out of the top ten that he would have deserved (73, +1). Just as it would have rewarded Pavan (68 65 72 72) who, sixth after 54 holes, gave in with two bogeys in the last five (72, par, three birdies and three bogeys). The two Italians gained positions in the Race To Dubai: the Apulian rose from 40th to 33rd and Pavan from 78th to 56th. Guido Migliozzi was eliminated at the cut for the second week in a row, with 143 (71 72, -1), and the same fate for the South African Dylan Frittelli, 74th with 144 (par), who was defending the title.
