Shane Lowry, his good friend and colleague, wanted to win at the last tournament, but Rory was simply a level above him and Shane failed to impose his rhythm.

Lowry emphasized in an interview with the media that he was delighted with his performance. However, he is aware that he has to work on some other things if he really wants to celebrate against McIlroy.

Im happy enough with my week. I think we play at this level, especially when youre in the position I was in today, you play to win, you dont play to finish second, said Lowry, as quoted by Irish Golfer.

But the way he was playing today, I certainly wasnt good enough to beat him. I felt like I got a lot out of my game today and I felt like that was probably as good a score as I could have shot. I didnt hit the ball well, I was quite uncomfortable for the most part. I think it goes to show a lot of the character of me and my game that I came out finishing second today and Im proud of myself how I battled.

Shane Lowry is worried about aging

The experienced golfer admits that from year to year he has doubts as to whether he is still at his level, given that he is aware that it is difficult to maintain the same level with age.

However, he is happy when he plays such tournaments that give him confirmation that he has several more years of good golf and play ahead of him. Shane is proud of this performance, hoping that something similar will happen in the coming weeks.
