Duke Hudsons WWE departure is still fresh, but his former Chase U partner, Andre Chase, isnt letting him walk away without some well-deserved recognition. Following Hudsons cryptic Wrestling with Identity video, Chase took to Twitter/X to show his appreciation for Hudsons contributions to their team.
I just wanted to publicly thank Duke Hudson for all of his hard work and contributions to Chase U, Chase wrote. From the poker table, to the classroom, to the tag-team Match of the Year, all the way to the top as champions in WWE. You the real MVP #WWENXT.
The message comes after Hudson broke his silence on his WWE release in a self-interview where he had a brutally honest conversation with himself. In the video, Hudson directly addressed his exit, acknowledging that while his time in WWE didnt go as planned, he refuses to see it as a failure.
Alright, well lets get straight to the point. Youve been fired, which might be breaking news to a lot of the people here, Hudson told himself. You werent part of a group with a budget cuts, right, so this really was more of a we hate you. Yeah, his other self replied.
Hudsons inner voice then forced him to confront his career trajectory. Think of everything that happened in your time there. You and Bronnie, for example. You started at the same time, you came up in Australia together. Now hes jumping off the top of cages at Survivor Series, and youre being written off TV again. Rhea, for example. She is a megastar. She grew up watching you wrestle in Australia. You love telling people that story. Well, they overtook you. Your time was wasted.
Still, Hudson refused to let negativity take over completely. I can be happy for my friends and be disappointed in my own shortcomings at the same time, he responded.
Before abruptly ending the video, Hudson left the door open for more. Im not done with you. Well be right back.
Hudsons time in WWE ended quietly in January, with reports surfacing that Triple H didnt see him as a main roster star. While he won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Chase in 2023, it wasnt enough to secure his future with the company.
With his WWE chapter officially closed, Hudson is now figuring out his next steps. The support from Chase shows that whatever comes next, he wont be forgotten by those he worked alongside.
What do you think about Duke Hudsons next move? Should WWE have given him more opportunities, or was his release inevitable? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
