John Cena isnt slowing down as he continues his WWE farewell tour while juggling a major Hollywood project.
After making his second stop in the Royal Rumble match, Cena came close to pulling off a win but was the final man eliminated by Jey Uso. Now, hes got his sights set on Elimination Chamber, where hes fighting for a shot at one last WrestleMania main event.
Following the Royal Rumble, Cena confirmed that hell compete in next months Mens Elimination Chamber match. If he wins, hell challenge either Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship or GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 41. The decision hinges on which champion Jey Uso chooses to face.
In the meantime, Cena has already left WWE behindfor now. According to PWInsider, he has returned to Budapest, Hungary, to resume filming Matchbox, the upcoming action film inspired by the classic toy brand.
The movie, produced by Apple Studios, Skydance Media, and Mattel Films, is described as an action-packed, globetrotting adventure. While exact plot details are still under wraps, the story follows a group of childhood friends who must come together to stop a looming global catastrophe.
Cena leads an impressive cast that includes Jessica Biel, Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, Teyonah Parris, Randeep Hooda, Danai Gurira, and Corey Stoll. Production kicked off in Budapest in January 2025, with additional filming set to take place in Slovakia and Los Angeles.
With his Hollywood schedule packed, Cena isnt expected to appear on WWE programming again until Elimination Chamber. But once he returns, all eyes will be on whether he can secure one last title match before he officially calls it a career.
