Belinda Bencic has been through to the Abu Dhabi Open quarterfinal in the most impressive way possible after double-bageling Veronika Kudermetova 6-0 6-0.

Throughout the match, it was an absolute dominance from the Swiss, who entered the tournament via a wildcard.
After the Swiss started the match with an early break and a 2-0 lead, lucky loser Kudermetova had two consecutive game points in the third game - but didn't convert.
In the rest of the set, the Russian didn't have a single game or break point as Bencic sealed the opener with a bagel.
The second set was pretty much the same story - the former world No. 4 claimed a break early and went 2-0 up.
In the third game, Kudermetova had two break points but again failed to realize and finally get on the board.
The Swiss wildcard then earned another break in the fifth game before serving out for a double bagel in the following game.

During the match, Bencic realized six of her eight break point chances while she didn't face a single break point.
Bencic plays next against the winner of the match between No. 4 seed Yulia Putintseva and 2023 Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrousova.
Bencic is making a strong return to Abu Dhabi
Two years ago, the 27-year-old won Abu Dhabi in her debut after saving match points to beat Liudmila Samsonova in the final.
Last year, the Swiss didn't return to defend her title because she was pregnant.
But this year, the former world No. 4 returned and is having another strong run.
Although Bencic is still early in her post-pregnancy earlier, it is safe to say that it has gone pretty well, considering that she already clinched nine wins in 2025.
Also, she now probably feels confident that she can win Abu Dhabi and get her first title as a mother.
