Jade Cargill has been off WWE television since that brutal backstage attack on the November 22 episode of SmackDown, and fans have been waiting for her return ever since. Now, it looks like shes getting closer to making her comeback, and WrestleMania 41 might be the perfect stage for it.
According to PWInsider, Cargill has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, training on both Monday and Tuesday. The belief within WWE is that shell be ready to compete in time for WrestleMania 41.
WWE played up an injury angle when Cargill was attacked backstage, leaving fans wondering if she was legitimately hurt. At first, there was speculation that she suffered a real injury that could have kept her out for three months or longer. However, conflicting reports have left her status up in the air.
PWInsider previously stated that Cargill was never actually injured, and the entire angle was scripted. Meanwhile, other sources claim that WWE still lists her as injured internally, keeping fans unsure about whats real and whats part of the storyline. In mid-December, Cargill took a short vacation with her family before returning to the Performance Center, where shes been training consistently ever since.
Now, the biggest question is who attacked her? WWE is reportedly debating between two possible names for the reveal, and the storyline will revolve around Cargill hunting down her attacker. This also allows WWE to move the Womens Tag Team Championships without having Cargill or Bianca Belair take a loss, keeping both stars strong heading into WrestleMania.
With WrestleMania 41 right around the corner, Cargills return could shake up the SmackDown womens division in a big way. The only mystery left to solve is who took her out in the first place.
