Collin Morikawa is aiming for his first win of the year at the Zozo Championship on the US PGA Tour in Japan. The 27-year-old American was solid last season, having several notable performances. However, he is not satisfied, feeling that he could have done more.
Playing in Japan carries special emotions for him, given his roots. Namely, he celebrated last year in Tokyo, playing at Narashino Country Club.
The 27-year-old golfer admits that it is difficult to win, but he believes that he has the potential to do so.
"It's a place I look forward to every year. Knowing that I won last year, lot of good memories," - he said, as quoted by Inforney.
"It was my first win in two years. Look, winning's tough. No matter what it is, winning is tough. You have to learn how to win."
The Japanese golfer will have quality golfers across from him like Xander Schauffele, who was the strongest weapon of the PGA Tour last year, along with Scottie Scheffler. Morikawa is not sure how his performance in Japan will look like, given that each tournament has different conditions and other factors that could affect you. Collin understood the importance of being focused from day one.
"Every tournament's different, you never know how you're going to play on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday," he said.

The 27-year-old celebrated last year at the Zozo Championship, but he points out that he had no problem keeping his emotions in check. The popular golfer admits that he is not an emotional person, which probably makes his work on golf courses easier.
The American knows how to separate emotions and the game, as he wants to belong to the very top of the table.
"Honestly, I'm not that emotional of a guy," he said.
"Whenever something happens, you just never know what it's going to be."
