Mercedes Mones AEW run has been full of surprises, and it looks like she might be getting backup soon.
According to Fightful Select, AEW has been discussing pairing Mone with The Renegade Sisters, and the duo was backstage at AEW Dynamite last week.
Robyn and Charlette Renegade have been making waves in AEWs womens division, appearing in the past on AEW Dark and Collision, and now they could be aligned with the TBS Champion. While nothing is official yet, the potential pairing could add an interesting dynamic to Mones title reign.
Mone successfully defended her TBS Championship against Yuka Sakazaki on the January 31 episode of AEW Dynamite, closing out the show with a clean win. But with no clear challenger stepping up, AEW might be shifting focus toward building Mones presence with a faction rather than immediately setting up her next title defense.
If this move happens, it could mark a fresh direction for Mones AEW story. After her partnership with Kamille fizzled out, fans have been waiting to see if AEW would pair her with new alliesand The Renegade Sisters might be the answer.
