Serena Williams' childhood coach Rick Macci suggests that Emma Raducanu should turn to a biomechanics coach to help her fix but also improve her serve.

On Tuesday, the world No. 56 disappointingly exited the Abu Dhabi Open in the first round after picking up a 3-6 4-6 defeat to Marketa Vondrousova.

For the Briton, it was her third consecutive defeat but also another match in which her serve didn't work particularly well - she had zero aces, two double faults, won only 59 percent of her first-serve points and 52 percent of her second-serve points.

Also, it was Raducanu's second consecutive match without a coach after Nick Cavaday left her team two weeks ago.

"A travel coach/buddy is the easy part for Emma. A different set of eyes to consult regarding the biomechanics of her serve which is now disconnected," Macci wrote on X.

"A voice to motivate/frame it up like she has never heard and work with her coach. If you do the same you get the same. Think out of the box and even better build a new one."

Macci indicated he'd be willing to work with Raducanu in some capacity

Before the 2021 US Open champion started her Abu Dhabi Open, the 70-year-old American claimed that someone asked him if he would be open to working with the Briton.

"Was asked about helping Emma. If parents/team asked I would maybe guide/help mold the mental/strategic and biomechanical part from here," Macci wrote on X.

"I am too busy to travel but I could rewire the serve and mindset and help set the table to eat her way back into the top ten."

Since the start of the year, Raducanu's serve hasn't been the best.

At the Australian Open, she blasted 15 double faults against Ekaterina Alexandrova - sprayed five against Amanda Anisimova - and had four against Iga Swiatek.
