Rick Shiels, a famous YouTuber surprised many by signing a contract with LIV Golf. The man who is one of the most popular golf influencers already had contact with the Saudis a few years ago.

Although at the beginning he did not know whether to accept such an offer, over time he realized that LIV is a serious project, so he decided to accept their offer.
To be honest, conversations took place a couple of years ago, Shiels said, as quoted by Todays Golfer.
I was always quite intrigued, but nobody knew what it was like early doors, so I wanted to see how the events took place and how it would all pan out.

The well-known name of the YouTube scene initially went to the events, not knowing what to expect. The controversial Tour is a completely different thing from everything he has seen in the years behind, so he wanted to see for himself the seriousness of this project.

Watching PGA Tour events and Majors, going to LIV seemed totally different.
However, watching the events year after year, Rick realized that they were doing great and exciting things. This is one of the reasons why he wanted to join LIV, and to become an important factor in their expansion and growth this year.
Once I started to go to events, it really caught my attention that they are really onto something here. So we started talking early last year about how we could work together and do something exciting. We were hoping to try and come up with the deal to start at the JCB in the summer, but that didnt materialize so I said lets focus our attention on making sure that we hit the ground running in 2025 and make sure its the perfect partnership.- Shiels said.
