Elena Rybakina is trying to start a new chapter in her career, after experiencing a very difficult period due to the well-known case of Stefano Vukov. The latter's position is still under investigation by the WTA and although the Kazakh player has always defended him from the accusations the feeling is that this story is still far from its conclusion.

Vukov cannot be credited to professional tournaments at this time and Elena had started a collaboration with Goran Ivanisevic, from whom great results were to be expected although the former Croatian champion was at his first experience on the WTA tour.

Shortly before the start of the 2025 Australian Open, Rybakina announced her decision to have Stefano back on the team and this move also left Ivanisevic speechless. Novak Djokovic's former coach was very annoyed by this choice of his player, but agreed to follow her in the first Grand Slam of the new season.

At the end of the Happy Slam, Goran announced the end of this collaboration and thickened several clouds over the future of the Kazakh.

Sanguinetti onRybakina'smain goal

Amidst the general shock, Elena arrived in Abu Dhabi together with her new coach Davide Sanguinetti. The former Italian player, who also coached Dinara Safina in the past, has accepted this role while waiting for Vukov's future to be defined.

Interviewed by 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', Sanguinetti revealed the Kazakh's main goalat the moment: "It is a very intriguing experience that I face with passion and desire to do well right away. Everyone expects important results from Rybakina, so there is more pressure, but I am really excited. Elena has a game that I really like and I'm happy to build something with her. A player of her caliber cannot be satisfied with winning only Wimbledon in 2022, which is why the main goal is to win a Major title again in the near future."

The current world number 5 needs to regain her certainties to try to counter Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek.
