Bea Priestley isnt staying quiet after her WWE exit. The former Blair Davenport took to social media just hours after being cut on February 7th, making a statement that instantly turned heads. TOP GAIJIN. Those two words say it all.
For those unfamiliar, Top Gaijin is a term reserved for elite foreign wrestlers who dominate the Japanese wrestling scene, and Priestley lived up to that reputation long before WWE signed her. As former World of STARDOM Champion, she established herself as one of the fiercest competitors in Japan before joining WWE. Now, with her exit confirmed, she might be signaling a return to where she built her name.
Priestleys WWE journey was a rollercoaster. She signed with NXT UK in 2021 under the Blair Davenport persona, quickly making an impact with her ruthless in-ring style. When NXT UK was scrapped, she transitioned to NXT, where she remained a threat in the womens division. In 2024, she was drafted to Friday Night SmackDown, but despite the big move, she was rarely used. Her last match came on November 22nd, when she competed in a WWE Womens United States Championship tournament triple threat match.
Unfortunately, WWE had no creative plans for her, and as part of the companys latest round of roster cuts, she was let go alongside AOP, Sonya Deville, Cedric Alexander, and Paul Ellering.
Blairs exit immediately sparked speculation about where shell go next. A return to STARDOM seems like an obvious choice, given her history as one of the top foreign wrestlers in Japan. However, AEW could also be in the mix, considering her previous run with the company before signing with WWE. Theres also the possibility of TNA Wrestling, where Priestleys hard-hitting style would fit right in.
With plenty of options on the table, the wrestling world will be watching closely to see where she lands next.
Whats next for Blair Davenport? Should she return to Japan, head to AEW, or make a fresh start somewhere else? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
