Antony secured his second La Liga MVP award after Real Betis' 3-2 defeat to Celta Vigo on Saturday, exceeding his Premier League record from his two-and-a-half years with Manchester United.

The Brazilian joined Betis on loan in January in an attempt to reignite a career which has stalled horribly since his 81.3m move from Ajax in the summer of 2022, and things have been going well so far after he picked up back-to-back MVP awards in his first two games for the club.

Across his entire spell with United, Antony won the Premier League's Player of the Match award just once - during a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in April 2023.

Antony netted his first Betis goal on Saturday and is also now 20% of the way to matching his league tally with United, who saw the 24-year-old score just five times in 62 Premier League outings before heading to Spain.

There is still the chance for him to add to his record in the English top flight as Antony's loan contract with Betis does not include the option for a permanent transfer, meaning he will return to United in the summer.

After his debut, Antony did leave the door open to a move to Betis, but a permanent switch would hinge on just how big of a loss United are prepared to make.
