Hello everyone! Last night we had a singles match between La Diva, La Catalina versus La Campeona Universal Persephone, after la Calatina challanged her for a match last week.
Before the match, there was a face-off between the two. After being called ugly last week by La Catalina, Persephone stated that she did not ask for that. She said that La Catalina was a little girl that did not even know which color of hair to have and wondered if La Catalina just asked for their match to humiliate herself and to lose, stating that in that case she would be glad to do so.
The match was a two out of three falls single match, which allowed them to showcase themselves more than the normal tag team matches that CMLL does.
Some highlights of the first fall included a fallaway slam on the outside of the ring after La Catalina was caught by Perse when attempting a diving cross body. The first fall was won by Persephone after an arched pin.
La Catalina was able to get her lick back when she won the second fall, making Perse tapped out channeling her inner Sarita with a modified backbreaker rack.
Finally, La Catalina was able to get the job done after setting up her opponent with an electric chair and finishing her with a diving plancha from the top rope.
The match was way more entertaining thanks to the small build up and the segment they had a couple of days prior. Both women did their thing in the match. La Catalina seems to be very popular with the CMLL fans, while Persephone seems to be their breakout star. I could see both of them having a really good night at their next big event on March 7th.
