AEW has officially severed ties with Bear Boulder, real name Thomas Wansaw, after his arrest on January 14, 2025. According to Fightful Select, AEW terminated his contract following the shocking allegations against him.
Ringside News obtained details of the arrest, which took place in Orange County, Florida. Wansaw was taken into custody for battery by strangulation after a domestic violence incident involving his fiance, Rainy Henderson.
Deputy J. Rincon of the Orange County Sheriffs Office responded to the scene after Henderson called 911. Law enforcement found visible injuries on her neck and hand, including red marks, scratches, and a bruise.
Henderson told deputies that a heated argument escalated when Wansaw pushed her to the ground and then pressed his foot against her throat, causing her to lose consciousness for several minutes. When she regained consciousness, she managed to escape and call for help.
She also told authorities this wasnt the first time he had been violent toward her, claiming similar incidents had occurred five to ten times. Henderson noted that Wansaws behavior seemed different when he was attending anger management classes.
Despite initially cooperating with the investigation, she later expressed concerns about Wansaws arrest, fearing it would put them in financial trouble. She even asked deputies if she could take back her statement, but the process had already begun.
Wansaw admitted to placing his foot on her neck, acknowledging that she lost consciousness. He claimed he picked her up and placed her on the couch once he realized what had happened. He also alleged that Henderson had pulled a knife on him earlier that day but refused to elaborate or press charges.
Wansaw was arrested and charged under Florida State Statute 784.031. He was transported to the Orange County Detention Facility without incident, and the case remains open.
In response to the news, Bear Bronson, Wansaws former tag partner, shared his reaction on X.
I dont know what to say. Im sick to my stomach. Ive been checking in with Rainy since I found out to make sure shes ok, but I did not know the horrific details, Bronson wrote.
He went on to say that he had been out on a date with his wife when he learned about the situation. Ive been on a city date with my wife for the past few hours & rn I just want to turn my phone off to be with her.
The AEW locker room has not made any public statements regarding Wansaws release, but the situation has clearly shaken those close to him.
