WWEs latest round of roster cuts has already turned heads, but the decision to release Karl Anderson while hes still injured is raising even more questions.

Fightful Select confirmed on February 8, 2025, that Anderson and his tag team partner Luke Gallows, collectively known as The Good Brothers, were let go.

What makes Andersons release stand out is that hes still recovering from an injury and wont be cleared for another 3-6 months. Fightful Select noted that releasing injured talent is very out of the ordinary for WWE, and sources are digging for more details on why the company made this move. Despite the circumstances, Anderson is reportedly in good spirits.

Anderson and Gallows returned to WWE in October 2022 to reunite with AJ Styles as part of The O.C., but their second run never gained much traction. After sporadic appearances and long stretches of inactivity, WWE opted to cut ties. This marks the second time the company has released them, following their departure in 2020 after WrestleMania 36.

With Anderson still sidelined, the timing of his release is particularly unusual. WWE typically avoids cutting talent who are recovering from injuries, making this decision even more surprising. Whether Anderson and Gallows end up back in NJPW, AEW, or TNA remains to be seen, but Andersons immediate future is now up in the air.

Their exit is just the latest in a string of releases that have seen Isla Dawn, Akam & Rezar (AOP), Paul Ellering, Cedric Alexander, Sonya Deville, and Blair Davenport all cut from WWE. With WrestleMania season in full swing, speculation is growing about whether even more names could be on the chopping block.
