Seth Rollins didnt hold back when discussing a hypothetical WWE-AEW trade, but MJF wasnt about to stay silent. Hours after Rollins comments went viral, MJF took to Twitter on February 8, 2025, with a response dripping in signature sarcasm.
Who the hell is Luca Doncic? Indie guy? MJF wrote, throwing shade at the comparison Rollins made between himself and the NBA superstar.
The drama started when Rollins, speaking with Sirius XM Sports, was asked to imagine an NBA-style trade between WWE and AEW. His take? AEW doesnt have anyone worth trading for on WWEs level.
Youll make some headlines with this one. I dont think there is anybody in AEW thats on that level. Youre probably looking at it, if youre looking at a LeBron, thats like a John Cena level guy. Id be looking at John Cena for an MJF, maybe. Thatd be the deal. Luka would be MJF. Thats the level. Thats how crazy that is.
Rollins essentially said the only way a trade would make sense is if WWE sent John Cena to AEW in exchange for MJF, but even then, it was clear he didnt see AEWs roster as being on WWEs level.
MJF, never one to back down from a verbal exchange, turned the tables with his tweet, playing dumb about Doncic while taking a jab at Rollins attempt to equate wrestling to the NBA.
The back-and-forth has already kicked off debates among fans. Is Rollins right? Does WWE really have a level of talent AEW just cant match? Or is MJF proving why he belongs in the same conversation as WWEs top stars?
