Stefanos Tsitsipas' 2025 season has not started in the best way and some are beginning to doubt that he will ever be able to return to the same level as a few years ago. The Greek ace has lost almost all his certainties in the last two seasons, moving further and further away from his goals and becoming a second-rate player.
The former Top 10 has also suffered greatly due to the rise of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who became the new leaders of the men's tour and who began to share the Grand Slam titles. The champion from Athens was convinced that - after the withdrawal of the Big 3 he could have won the most prestigious titles - but this goal is really very far away at the moment.

'Tsitsi' is putting in the effort on the tennis court and he also showed it in Rotterdam last week, where he defeated local idol Tallon Griekspoor after a very spectacular battle. The next day however it was literally demolished by the young Italian Mattia Bellucci.
The 2019 Nitto ATP Finals champion said he has regained motivations thanks to his girlfriend Paula Badosa, who started the new season in a very brilliant way, while he just can't find the flicker that changes the inertia of his career.
The Greek ace seems to have entered a negative spiral from which he cannot get out, despite his shocking decision to end the professional relationship with his father Apostolos.
Tsitsipas will play in Barcelona
Stefanos' ranking could get even worse if he fails to defend the title he won in Monte Carlo last year. The red clay is the best surface of the player from Athens, who has won his three Masters 1000 all in the Principality.

A little while ago, the news was released that the Greek will also participate in the 2025 Barcelona Open. Tsitsipas has always played excellent tennis in this tournament, where he has reached the final four times, including last year.
His main opponents in 2025 edition will be Carlitos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud, Holger Rune and Andrey Rublev.
