The card for WWE WrestleMania 41 is starting to take shape, with speculation that John Cena will win the Elimination Chamber match and challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title at the event. However, it appears some in WWE want CM Punk to be part of the match as well.
While speaking on a recent edition of SportsKeedas Backstage Pass Q&A, WrestleVotes reported that some within WWE would prefer to see CM Punk added to the Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena match, making it a triple threat. This would be instead of the currently planned triple threat featuring Punk, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.
While its unclear if this idea has been discussed officially, there are people in WWE who believe Rhodes vs. Cena vs. Punk would be a stronger matchup than the originally planned Punk vs. Rollins vs. Reigns bout.
Dave Meltzer has already reported that John Cena is officially set for the Elimination Chamber match, with WWE planning for him to win and go on to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41.
Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see whether CM Punk will end up being included in John Cena and Cody Rhodes match at the Showcase of the Immortals, as anything is possible in the world of professional wrestling and plans could change at any given moment.
