Following Ricky Starks AEW release on Monday, speculation quickly grew about when he would appear on WWE TV. Fans didnt have to wait long as he debuted during the February 11 episode of NXT, but no one acknowledged his name. In fact, the reason behind WWE not mentioning him by name has been released.
According to a report by Steven Muehlhausen, WWEs deal with Ricky Starks came together so fast that no merchandise had been produced for him yet. This is why the WWE announce team and social media team did not mention his name.
It is to be noted that in May, Starks trademarked Ricky Starks through his company Dream Palace LLC, but it remains unclear whether he will keep the name or undergo a change in WWE.
Fightful Select previously reported that WWE not acknowledging Ricky Starks name was not an accident. In addition to that, Ricky Starks made his debut on NXT instead of the main roster simply because NXT offers more flexibility to work him into the mix immediately.
We will have to wait and see how Ricky Starks WWE run unfolds now that he has debuted in NXT. Fans believe he has immense potential, and if he gets to keep his name from AEW, it could help solidify his brand even further.
