Ricky Starks made his shocking WWE debut on the February 11, 2025, episode of NXT, and now Jim Ross is weighing in on the move.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, the legendary commentator shared his thoughts on Starks leaving AEW and what the future holds for him in WWE.
I dont know if hell be the next Shawn Michaels at his size, but he has a unique future, Ross said. Hes got a big personality, so hopefully, hell do well and live his dream. It seems like the dream for a lot of talents is to make it to WWE and call it a day. Thats not where it ends, thats where it begins.
Ross admitted he was caught off guard by Starks debut and isnt sure how things will pan out for him in WWE.
So, I saw the episode of NXT last night and was surprised to see Ricky Starks. I dont know how hes going to do. Hes got a high opinion of himself, and hes got a lot of abilities. Theres no doubt about that. So well see how it works out for him. Its never easy to get over, and hopefully, he can get over and stay over as a top star. It remains to be seen. Lets see how it goes.
Starks transition from AEW to WWE has already turned heads, but as Ross pointed out, making the move is one thingstaying relevant is another.
