Brandel Chamblee, known as a fierce critic of LIV Golf, seems to be one of those who has softened his views regarding this Tour. The well-known face of the golf scene had the opportunity to talk with Donald Trump about the future of golf and the negotiations between PIF and the PGA Tour.
Although he still advocates similar views, Chamblee admitted that after the conversation with the US president, he slightly changed his view of the entire process. Namely, the well-known analyst revealed that while talking to Trump, he found out that the new US president is delighted with the main man of PIF, Yasir Al Rumayyan.
At one point he said, 'Look, I know you and I differ in this opinion but hear me out.' He said Yasir [Al-Rumayyan], the gentleman who runs LIV and heads the PIF. He said, 'Yasir loves golf more than you do and more than I do.' Now, thats hard to believe because President Trump plays a lot of golf and Im crazy about it, but he was serious. He was like, he loves golf that much."- Chamblee said.

Donald Trump decided to reveal the other side of the story to Chamblee, stressing that he is excited about the arrival of the Saudis in this sport. Of course, the US president is known as a person who observes things from many angles, carefully analyzing and extracting the positive and negative sides. It seems that in this case, Trump noticed that there are significantly more positive things about the Saudis.
As the round progressed, he would want to talk almost every hole about LIV and about the Saudi involvement, how excited he was for Saudi Arabia. Geopolitical issues aside, of course, of course I understand why we acquiesce and need Saudi Arabia as a partner in the Middle East."
Rory McIlroy's statements
What surprised many were the statements of Rory McIlroy, who also met with Donald Trump. The well-known Northern Irish golfer drew a lot of positives from the conversation with the president, but he also confirmed that Donald Trump is a person who is not a huge fan of LIV Golf.

"It was really good," McIlroy said.
"I thought we had a good discussion. I learned he's not a fan of the LIV format. I was like, but you've hosted their events. He was like, yeah, but it doesn't mean that I like it. So I think he's on the tour's side."
Interesting, isn't it? It seems as if the US president told two different stories to both of them.
