The collaboration between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray worked very well at the 2025 Australian Open, although the Serbian legend's run at Melbourne Park ended with a left thigh injury. The former world No. 1 had to retire after the first set of the semifinal against Alexander Zverev and had to postpone his dream of winning the 25th Major title of his career.

The good news is that that injury was not as serious as had been rumored and Nole will be back in action as early as Doha next week, in a very prestigious tournament in which there will be several stars of the ATP tour.

Murray who gave him very useful advice during the Happy Slam and who took his role as coach very seriously will not follow him to Qatar, but according to the latest rumors their collaboration is set to continue.

The former Scottish champion will certainly be present in Indian Wells in March and is expected to be alongside Djokovic in all major tournaments in 2025.

Murray on coaching Djokovic

The 37-year-old from Belgrade absolutely needed new motivations after the difficulties of 2024, in which he had disappointed expectations in many tournaments by saving his season only thanks to the Olympic gold won in Paris.

On the latest edition of the 'Sporting Misadventures' podcast, Murray reflected on his collaboration with Novak so far: It wasnt so much this is what you did wrong, it was more like this is what you do right. It was when I was playing against you, you were doing this, it was so hard to play against for these reasons.

I was more like trying to emphasize the positives of when hes playing well, this is what it looks like and this is what it feels like for the player down the other end.

Andy continued: I do think its a unique perspective I have on Novaks game that Im able to make up for some of those weaknesses and flaws that I would have (as an inexperienced coach) because Ive competed against him in the biggest matches on the biggest stages over a 10-12 year period.
