Mariah May isnt holding back when it comes to Britt Baker, but it looks like shes the only one pushing for a showdown. Despite repeatedly calling out the former AEW Womens Champion, sources say there are no plans for a matchat least, not yet.
During Fightful Selects Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked if Mays frequent name-dropping meant AEW had something in the works for Bakers return. Turns out, thats not the case. As best I know, its Mariah just expressing interest. I havent heard anything new on the Britt Baker front, Sapp confirmed.
That lines up with whats been happening over the past few weeks. May has been taking direct shots at Baker, even accusing her of backing out of a scheduled match. I was supposed to wrestle her, and then I think she, you know, sat on some dental floss or something and didnt show up, May said during her Going Ringside appearance.
With Baker off AEW TV since November 2024, theres been plenty of speculation about why shes been missing. Some reports claim injuries, others point to backstage drama, but AEW hasnt made any official statement. Regardless, May isnt waiting for an explanationshes keeping the pressure on and making sure fans dont forget about the match that never happened.
