Ric Flair has survived more than his fair share of health scares, but even The Nature Boy was caught off guard by his latest medical revelation.
Speaking on Gabby AF, the 16-time world champion dropped a bombshellhe recently learned he suffered a heart attack sometime in the last two years and had no idea it even happened.
I went in for a test, and the doctor told me, Youve had a heart attack in the last two years. I didnt even know, Flair admitted.
The shocking discovery was made after Flair underwent a calcium test on his heart, which revealed past damage. Given his well-documented 2017 health crisis, where he was put in a medically induced coma and underwent multiple heart surgeries, Flair knows firsthand how serious these issues can be. But despite the news, he isnt slowing down.
For some reason, I dont hurt anywhere I could wrestle again, but I wont, he said, making it clear that while he may feel fine, hes finally drawing the line at stepping back into the ring.
His health wasnt the only factor in his quiet exit from AEW last summer, but it certainly played a role. While many assumed his departure was simply due to his Wooooo! Energy sponsorship falling apart, Flair revealed that AEW didnt fully grasp his medical limitations when he first signed on. Tony [Khan] didnt realize I was on blood thinners, he said, which explains why the company kept him from getting physical, especially during Stings retirement match at Revolution 2024.
With AEW now behind him, Flair is shifting his focus to staying healthythough he admits that the itch to be part of wrestling never really goes away. WrestleMania 41 is right around the corner, and with Charlotte Flair set for a major role, could WWE find a way to get The Nature Boy back under the bright lights one more time?
