CM Punk knows what it takes to deliver a great promo, but when he challenged WWEs next generation to step up, one rising star didnt hesitate to go straight for him.

Punk made a special appearance on WWE LFG, the new A&E series featuring Performance Center prospects, and according to Bully Ray, the show delivered an unforgettable moment when one talent put Punk on the spot.

Speaking to the New York Post, Bully detailed how Punk addressed the group and threw down the gauntlet, daring them to prove themselves on the mic.

The day that Punk showed up was a really strong day here in NXT and for the future greats of LFG, Bully said. What really stood out to me that day was after Punk talked to the future greats, he challenged them. He basically dangled the microphone, dangled the pipe bomb in front of them and said, Alright, who wants to give this a try?

Before Punk could even finish, Zena Sterling and Jasper Troy jumped up, eager to grab the mic. But it was Castor who got there firstand he made the most of his moment.

I was so impressed by the both of them wanting to be the first ones to grab that microphone and cut that promo, Bully continued. And Castor was able to get to the microphone first. And he said things on that microphone that floored everyone. It was so real. It was so emotional. And I looked at him when he was done and I said, I applaud you for taking the bull by the horns. And you know, being the first one. I go, But youve been waiting to cut that promo your entire life, havent you? And hes like, Absolutely, I have.

Then came the real shockerCastor went after Punk directly. He went after Punk. To have the guts to go first is one thing. To go after Punk, and thats why thats a cant-miss episode. This future great, who has been around for a cup of coffee and a biscuit went after CM Punk.

Its not every day that a rookie walks right up and challenges one of WWEs most legendary talkers, but Castor took his shot and made it count. With The Undertaker, Mickie James, Bully Ray, and Booker T coaching these prospects and names like GUNTHER and Punk making surprise appearances, WWE LFG is already shaping up to be the proving ground for the next generation.
