The CW Network just brought in a major player to take the reins of its growing sports division, and that means WWE NXT is now under new leadership.
Michael Perman has been named Senior Vice President of Sports, a newly created position that puts him in charge of strategy, programming, and media rights for CW Sports.
Perman will now oversee nearly 400 hours of sports content a year, including NASCAR, WWE, ACC, Pac-12, Grand Slam Track, and Inside The NFL. But for wrestling fans, the biggest takeaway is that he will be responsible for NXTs future on The CW as the brand makes its big network debut.

Perman isnt new to the game. He spent over 20 years working with NBC Sports, the NBA, and Aggregate Sports, handling media rights and programming for NASCAR, the NHL, IndyCar, the UFC, and more. With his experience, The CW is betting that he can turn its sports division into a serious competitor.
