Will Ospreay made a surprise appearance at Pro Wrestling EVE Multiverse Rumble on February 7, shocking fans with an unexpected pedigree on Anita Triple H Vaughan before getting eliminated by Rayne Rayne-O-Mac Leverkusen.
According to Fightful Selects Corey Brennan, the pedigree spot was a last-minute addition after some planned participants pulled out of the match. It was meant to be a fun, non-canon moment for the 518 fans in attendancenothing more, nothing less.
But once a clip of the move hit social media, fans started reading between the lines, speculating that it was a shot at Triple H. Ospreay and the WWE Chief Content Officer had a brief back-and-forth in early 2024 after Ospreay chose AEW over WWE, fueling theories that the move was a subtle dig.
Behind the scenes, Ospreay wasnt just wrestlinghe was calling the shots as well. He served as broadcast director and producer for several matches at Multiverse Rumble. Ospreay has been a producer at Pro Wrestling EVE since April 2024 and part of the promotions creative team since October 2024.
His partner Alex Windsor also competed at the event, facing Jamie Hayter in the main event but falling short against the AEW star.
While Ospreay hasnt addressed the online speculation, fans are still debating whether the pedigree was just for fun or a subtle message.
Do you think Ospreay using the pedigree came off as a shot at Triple H given what went down last year over the grind? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comment section below.
