Amad Diallo has suffered an injury in training which could see him miss the remainder of Manchester United's season, a report has claimed.

Head coach Ruben Amorim spoke of a number of injury issues in midweek but declined to reveal the identities of those impacted ahead of Sunday's meeting with Tottenham Hotspur. It was later revealed that Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer had all picked up problems.

Unfortunately for United, things soon worsened as the Daily Mail revealed Amad had been struck down in training.

There were immediate fears that Amad's injury would bring his season to an abrupt end, and fresh reports have since confirmed that an ankle problem will keep the young winger on the sidelines for at least the next three months.

United officials were already under fire for their failure to bolster in attack in January, when both Marcus Rashford and Antony were allowed to leave the club, and the pressure has ramped up significantly after Amad's injury.

With Mason Mount also sidelined alongside the versatile Mainoo, United are struggling for forward options and may have to deploy striker Joshua Zirkzee in a deeper role to support Rasmus Hojlund.

Amorim has also admitted he is taking a look at 17-year-old striker Chido Obi, who has made waves in United's academy following his switch from Arsenal.
