
Eva Lys was seemingly in good spirits despite losing her Dubai second-round match in some crazy circumstances as the German joked that she at least didn't finish the match with a double fault.

For context, this year's Australian Open sensation and defending champion Jasmine Paolini started their match on Tuesday morning.
But because of multiple rain delays, the match didn't finish until evening.
Only in the final game of the match, there were two delays.
With Lys down 2-6 5-6 and serving to stay in the match, the 12th game started but the play was suspended after only a few points.
However, the two stayed on the court and the game continued a couple of games later as the German faced a 30/40 on her serve and a match point.
That's when play was stopped once again.
But this time, heavy rain started and they were told to leave the court.

After a delay that lasted over three hours, they were finally able to return to the court again.

And the Italian won that point after the rising German star missed a forehand.
Later, the 23-year-old joked on her Instagram Stories about the situation.
"Guys, at least it wasn't a double fault." the 23-year-old wrote.

Before losing to Paolini, Lys won two qualifying matches and also beat Irina Begu in the main draw first round.
