Alexander Zverev has big plans for the rest of the year as the German is warning Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz that his eyes are set on winning Grand Slams and reaching the top spot in the ATP rankings.

Since the start of 2024, the 27-year-old has made two Major finals.

But he remains without a Grand Slam title as each of the last five Majors has been won by either the Italian or the Spaniard.

After losing to Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set 2024 French Open final, Zverev was also ousted in straight sets by Sinner in this year's Australian Open final.

Last week, it was revealed that the Italian - who is currently ranked at No. 1 - received a three-month doping ban.

While Sinner will be allowed to compete at the French Open - he will likely lose the world No. 1 spot in the upcoming period - and world No. 2 Zverev who trails by 3,195 points - will have a shot at becoming the top-ranked player in the world for the first time in his career.

Zverev: I want to challenge Sinner and Alcaraz and achieve success

My goal is to compete with Jannik and Carlos for the biggest titles and for the world No. 1. There are some things that they do better than me so I need to improve on those things," the world No. 2 noted in Rio de Janeiro, via Jose Morgado.

While competing at the ATP 500 tournament in Rio de Janeiro, the three-time Grand Slam runner-up also took a moment to praise rising Brazilian star Joao Fonseca.

I really like the kid. Both as a player and as a person. He will be a top 10 and top 5 player for sure but that wont happen now or tomorrow. Things take time," Zverev said of the 18-year-old.
