Mercedes Mon has officially shut the door on the Mon Muppet, and shes making it cleartheres only room for one star in AEW.
The TBS Champion addressed the puppets unexpected rise to fame in her newsletter, where she reflected on how Harley Camerons joke creation became an instant hit. This little puppet has really taken on a life of its own. I mean, lets be realthis thing doesnt look anything like me, but it sure knows how to bring the entertainment!
What started as Camerons way to mock Mon turned into a viral sensation, with multiple Mon Muppet segments taking over social media. But after Mon defeated Cameron at AEW Grand Slam in Australia, she made sure to send the puppet packingliterally. And at Grand Slam! That puppet had its moments, but I kicked it so hard that it practically flew backward!
Mon even compared the moment to DDTs legendary inflatable doll Yoshihiko, saying it was her way of paying tribute. Ive been a fan of DDT Yoshihiko for ages, so consider this my tribute.
But dont expect a comeback for the puppet anytime soon. Mon made it clear that the Mon Muppet needs to take a seat and leave the spotlight to the real starbecause we all know who runs this show!
With Harley Cameron now in the rearview, Mons focus is shifting to her next challenge. AEW teased that Momo Watanabe is stepping up as the next contender for the TBS Championship, setting the stage for what could be a major showdown on Dynamite.
