The frustration inside WWEs womens division isnt going away, and new details are emerging about whats really going on behind the scenes.
Fightful Select reported that multiple women on the roster have voiced their concerns about the lack of focus on developing contenders, the struggling tag team division, and the overall screen time for women outside of the top stars.
Several WWE talent compared the situation to whats happening in NXT, where they see a stronger focus on the division and more emotional investment from fans. Many feel like NXTs womens roster gets far more opportunities to tell meaningful stories than the main roster.
Another major issue is redundancy. Some of the same talent are featured not just in the main event scene but even in the mid-card title picture. One source described it as a give other people more time in addition to them situation, rather than simply complaining about certain names getting too much screen time.
One of the biggest concerns raised was how WWE handled Sonya Devilles situation. According to those who spoke with Fightful, Deville was told WWE wanted to keep her on the roster. Just four days later, she was cut while in the middle of negotiating a new deal. Moves like that have left some talent feeling uneasy about their own futures, especially those who arent being used regularly.
Theres also been a recurring issue where talent ask about creative plans and are told their time will comeonly to be left waiting for an opportunity that never materializes. Some have expressed growing impatience, especially with WrestleMania 41 on the horizon and no clear direction for several female stars.
WWEs womens division has come a long way, but behind the scenes, many feel theres still a lot of work to be done.
