Luchasaurus, now known as Killswitch, is recovering from a serious health scare, but it looks like he could be back in AEW sooner than expected.
Back in September 2024, Killswitch collapsed at home, and his fiance rushed him to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed him with pneumonia in both lungs, with his blood oxygen levels dropping below 80%just days away from potentially permanent lung damage. Since then, hes been on a long road to recovery.
Now, according to Fightful Select, theres some positive news. Killswitch recently told fans at Toyhio that hes cleared for a return. However, theres a catch. Sources stated that being cleared by their doctors and cleared by AEW are two different things.
His timetable remains TBD, given the severity of his illness, but Bryan Alvarez previously reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Killswitch was expected to get back in the gym as early as Monday.
While theres still no official AEW creative plans for his return, the fact that hes improving is a huge step forward. Fans last saw him competing at AEW All In 2024, and with his longtime ally Christian Cage still in the spotlight, its only a matter of time before Killswitch steps back into the ring.
