SGW just made a claim that has wrestling fans doing a double take. The Ugandan wrestling promotion, already caught up in a major fraud scandal, announced on Twitter on February 23, 2025, that Cody Rhodes has sent them a wrestling ring.

Special thanx for @CodyRhodes happening this week on Friday 28th February 2025 at SGW grounds in Uganda!

A huge statement considering everything that went down last year. Back in 2024, SGWs promoter Daniel Bumbash was at the center of a major financial scandal involving thousands of dollars in donations from major wrestling stars. Will Ospreay, Daniel Garcia, Jordynne Grace, and others contributed over $10,000 to a GoFundMe campaign meant to help SGW improve their training conditions and get a proper wrestling ring. But instead of going to those upgrades, large portions of the money disappeared.

Bumbash claimed transaction fees were the reason funds went missing, but things took a darker turn when leaked messages revealed he had harassed and verbally abused a teenage SGW fan who had helped run the campaign. Bumbash admitted to the abuse in messages obtained by Bodyslam.net, exposing how he pressured the fan over delays in the money transfer.

Then came Mansoor and Mason D. Maddens charity stream, which raised over $40,000 in May 2024. Mansoors own mother even donated a van to help SGW get around. But once again, questions about where the money actually went started surfacing. SGW was caught in multiple lies, including claiming that they used the donated van to deliver food to the poor, a claim that was refuted by Nova Talent Elevation Africa, the actual charity that owned the vehicle.

When Cody Rhodes originally promised to buy SGW a wrestling ring, he reportedly sent the money to someone else in the promotion to ensure Bumbash couldnt get his hands on it. That move allegedly led to Bumbash making threats toward that person.

Now, SGW claims the ring is arriving on February 28, 2025. But given SGWs track record, there are a lot of questions. Did Cody personally oversee this, or is SGW throwing his name around to make themselves look legitimate again? Has Rhodes been made aware of the past allegations, or did this donation go through without him knowing the full story?

SGW has already been caught falsely claiming to have a TV deal, exaggerating its status as a charity, and misleading people about its legal operations. With so many unanswered questions, this latest development raises more red flags than anything else.

What do you thinkdid Cody Rhodes actually send SGW a wrestling ring, or is there something shady going on? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
