Ian Poulter was one of those who joined LIV Golf, not particularly concerned about the reactions of others.
The experienced golfer made a guest appearance on Lucas Stewart's YouTube channel, stressing that although some have labeled such a decision controversial, he does not share that opinion. Poulter saw it as a great chance, drawing a parallel between LIV Golf and Formula 1.
In my eyes it wasnt controversial, Poulter said, as quoted by The Golfing Gazette.
I, for me, I saw it as an opportunity. The opportunity for me to look at it the way I was viewing it, like I love team sport, and when you look at Formula One, the whole franchise model of what McLaren is and what Mercedes is, or Ferrari, when you look at all of those, I had the opportunity to own a piece of a team."

Ian Poulter: I can have an investment for the future
Ian Poulter realized that this was a unique project, but also a great chance for him to progress. LIV Golf is a project with revolutionary ideas, significantly different from the PGA Tour.
Such an approach is not liked by everyone, but the golfers who are part of this story are firmly convinced that LIV Golf's moves are the right ones, with the potential to attract fans in the future.
Its so unique in sport to have that uniqueness where, Ive got a say in how the team is run. I can have an investment for the future, see the product grow. Yes it was really controversial in the outset, but I always understood the contract I was signing up for and what that meant for years to come.
