
The records keep on tumbling for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, who broke no fewer than six in the Reds' 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday.
Salah opened the scoring in the comprehensive victory and set up Liverpool's second goal, taking his Premier League return for the season to a ludicrous 25 goals and 16 assists in just 27 games.
He becomes the first player in the league's history to record over 40 goal involvements in two different seasons, having racked up 42 (32 goals, ten assists) during his first year at Anfield in 2017/18, as well as the first-ever Premier League player to reach 25 goals and 15 assists in a single campaign.
Salah's return of 16 assists is also a Premier League record for Liverpool. The previous club-best was Steve McManaman's 15 in 1995/96.
With a goal and an assist to his name, Salah becomes the first Premier League player to both score and create a goal in 11 different games in a given season, matching a peak Lionel Messi's tally for Barcelona in La Liga during the 2014/15 season.
It was also the first time that any Premier League player has scored and assisted in both games against the reigning champions.
Wrapping up Salah's haul, he becomes the first player in Europe's top five leagues to reach 50 goal involvements across all competitions - 30 goals and 21 assists - this season.
"He is in a different world right now and playing out of his skin," left-back Andrew Robertson said of Salah after the game. "We are very happy to have him, that's for sure.
"I can't be bothered talking about him to be honest! No, he's been unbelievable. A set-piece routine worked, which is pleasing. Everyone had a role to play and Mo got the glory of putting it in the back of the net. Another goal and assist.
"His work-rate going back the other way was unbelievable today, him and Lucho [Diaz] and that was key to us keeping a clean sheet."
