Today came the official confirmation that Anna Nordqvist will be the captain of the European team for the next edition.
The experienced golfer, who had the chance to be vice-captain in the previous editions, more precisely in the previous two, will now have an even more demanding role.
In an interview with the media, the 37-year-old pointed out that it is an honor to be the captain of such a team, stressing that this competitionhas been a big part of her career ever since she stepped into this sport.
Looking at the previous editions of the Solheim Cup, it must be admitted that the players from both teams offered the excitement factor. It was a wonderful experience for them, filled with beautiful memories and moments.
"I am so honoured to be appointed as the 2026 European Solheim Cup captain," said Nordqvist, as quoted by RTE.

"Whether we were winning or losing, the Solheim Cup has played such a huge part in my career ever since I made my debut in 2009 in Chicago.
The friendships I have made, and the memories created during the nine matches I've played, make it so incredibly special to be given the opportunity to be European Captain at my 10th Solheim Cup!"
