Before the start of the new season, Carlos Alcaraz worked very hard with his two coaches Juan Carlos Ferrero and Samuel Lopez with the aim of improving his serve. The fruits of this work have not been fully seen yet. The 4-time Grand Slam champion alternated matches in which his serve worked well with other challenges in which it was lacking.
This shot did not help him enough during the matches against Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals at the 2025 Australian Open and not even against Jiri Lehecka in Doha last week, in which his serve totally disappeared in the last part of the third set.
The world number 3 knows that it will take time before he sees the results of his work and he must not be in a hurry, as Ferrero also specified during a recent interview with Eurosport.
Carlitos' next tournament will be the Indian Wells Masters 1000, in which he will be the top favorite having lifted the trophy in the last two editions and not being present his great rival Jannik Sinner.

Through his official Instagram profile, top coach Patrick Mouratoglou analyzed Alcaraz's new serve in detail: I see two things on that photo of Carlos Alcaraz.
First thing, the right leg which is going so far up, and the second thing I see is his left arm, which is going so far back also after the serve.
He also added: What does it say? It says one big thing, how loose he is, how relaxed.
